In addition to my professional experience, I studied online content strategy and design at DePaul University, completing a Master's in New Media Studies in 2011.
Usability gurus Donald Norman and Steve Krug provided the foundation of my design philosophy, but lately I've found myself equally as influenced by persuasive design specialists like Nir Eyal and B.J. Fogg. By extension, my personal interest in books about neuroscience and mindfulness has also played a significant role in my work.
Prior to my career in web design, I worked for years as a freelance music writer and community radio DJ. I also dabble in traditional black and white film photography and love to decompress from the digital world by spending time in the warm analog glow of the Chicago Community Darkroom.
